I remember the first time I heard the name Jon Spencer it was during the fall of 97 during 3rd period spanish. My friend Marcos Payne asked "have you heard of Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion?" I said no are they tight. He then went on to tell me the greatness of the band along with their fearless leader Mr. Jon Spencer. Since that time I have heard small portions of Jon Spencer's music while moving thru this game called life. So when the chance came came up to catch the cat live with his new band Heavy Trash I knew I had to be on site.
It was was an experience that I'm glad I pulled my lazy ass off the couch to make at the Blue Lamp. Right from the onset the band laid waste to all within ear shot of their gritty guitar sounds that at times during the set switched to a heavy large mountain cat like snarl. Also I must say the band has that timeless quality that thats give them a heavy edge like broken rocks at the quarry.

The band played hard, fast and dirty thru their entire set coming back out with shit grins and a bit a fuel left in their gas tanks and layed into a cover of "I Don't Mind" by the late great Godfather of Soul James Brown. At the conclusion of this show I was feeling the strong adult beverages working thru my system and wandered over to the merch table to spy the goods for sale. As I was pondering my purchase of 45, Jon swung by the table and was chatting folks up I stepped over and let him know my friend had turned me onto him in 97 and I was glad that 11 years later I finally got a musical blast into my soul similar to what Marcos was trying to explain in the most exact emotional details during the fall of 97 during spanish class.

O Incrível Cérebro Que Derreteu

Hora de vender meu peixe.

No primeiro semestre desse ano escrevi o roteiro de O Incrível Cérebro Que Derreteu, curta-metragem que gravei em junho desse ano. Com uma duração de 5 minutos, o curta mostra uma garota dependente química que acorda ao som do despertador às duas horas da madrugada em seu apartamento, repleto de pílulas por todos os lados, levanta-se e vai ao banheiro onde toma um de seus remédios "matinais". A garota vai até a sala e senta-se à mesa (onde vemos livros abertos, drogas e mais pílulas) com o intuito de estudar. Com dificuldade de se concentrar, a pressão sobre a garota é tanta que essa se vê obrigada a literalmente abrir a cabeça e retirar seu próprio cérebro, colocando-o sobre o livro à sua frente. A personagem, uma vez sem cérebro, levanta-se e vai assistir, em estado catatônico, à televisão enquanto, sobre o livro, seu cérebro se derrete. A atriz é Letícia Pelizzari. A produção ficou por conta de Douglas Lamounier, Daniel Lugão, Wemerson Machado (que também fez os props) e Hilton Júnior. Eu dirigi, escrevi e fiquei por conta dos efeitos visuais e da maquiagem de efeito.

O singelo orçamento foi de quase menos de 200 reais (113, se não fosse um acidente com um espelho que, sozinho, nos custou todo o resto do orçamento). Para as cenas mais explícitas, foram comprados, no total, 5 cérebros de boi mas, devido à dificuldade de trabalhar com o material (acreditem, é difícil manusear um cérebro sem despedaçá-lo), só foi usado um cérebro real em uma das cenas. Nas outras, utilizamos props de argila feitos por Wemerson Machado.

O curta tem natureza surreal e, embora não tenha nenhuma semelhança em termos de conteúdo, seu título é homenagem ao clássico trash de William Sachs, O Incrível Homem Que Derreteu (The Incredible Melting Man, 1982). Ele ainda critica as sociedades disciplinar, do espetáculo e de controle, com ênfase à prática televisiva.

Trechos do curta foram exibidos no programa Brasil das Gerais do dia 30 de julho de 2008, no canal Redeminas.

O DVD, para quem tem interesse, pode ser adquirido comigo por 9 reais + frete (para quem não mora em Belo Horizonte) e oferece som Dolby Digital 5.1. Basta entrar em contato.

Fazer filmes falando de Nordeste, violência e favelas brasileiras é mole. Quero ver se alguém tem bagos de fazer um filme mostrando a aparição de uma múmia no Brasil, em forma de comédia, como em "O Segredo da Múmia". Ivan Cardoso é um dos diretores mais subestimados do cinema nacional. Foi ele que, no começo dos anos 80, inaugurou (mesmo que os norte-americanos digam o contrário) o terrir, com esse filme. As interpretações exageradas; o roteiro maluco, impagável e genial ao mesmo tempo; a criatividade para utilizar os poucos recursos existentes, os momentos impagáveis (e são muitos), os inúmeros clichês do cinema (o mocinho destemido, a mocinha, a femme fatale, o cientista louco, etc...), tudo isso é mostrado sem exageros e forma extremamente prazerosa, feito por dois apaixonados pelo cinema (o diretor e o roterista Rubens Luchetti). Já conhecia "As Sete Vampiras" dele (que, aliás, é outro exemplar maravilhoso), mas esse é uma obra-prima do terrir.

Ich bin zu Hause und hab mir gerade mal eben zum Essen den Fernseher angemacht. Hängen geblieben bin ich bei Pro7 Taff oder so. Es kommt ein Bericht über eine Frau, die eine eigene kleine Boutique hat, die kurz vor dem Ende steht. Pro7 hat einen Top Mann engagiert, der diesen Laden mal genauer unter die Lupe nehmen und der Frau dann helfen soll.

Dieser Mann geht also incognito einkaufen. Von der Sprecherin aus dem Off wird noch spekuliert, wie die Besitzerin auf den "Kunden" zugehen wird. Tür geht also auf, Mann in Anzug und Krawatte kommt rein. Aber was ist das da an seiner gelben Krawatte? Ein dickes Mikro? Ja genau, wir wollen den Mann doch verstehen. Aber wie offensichtlich gespielt ist denn bitte schön dieses Szenario? Hätte man da nicht so einen Tonmann holen können, der das Mikro von oben reinhält? Wenn das der Boutiquebesitzerin nicht klar ist, dass da ihre Hilfe steht, dann sollte man ihr auch nicht helfen.

Mir ist wieder klar geworden, dass ich beim Essen den Fernseher aus lassen sollte. Das Ende hab ich dann auch nicht mehr gesehen.

Wieso mache ich eigentlich auch Pro7 an?

When I was writting in my previous post that environment is an important topic, I got a flashback on a standup comedy act by George Carlin. A very interesting piece of material. Of course, might be a bit too direct, but it's honest and makes a stronger point than any of the EU's so called plans.

I could not agree more with George's Carlin quote mentioned in the title of my post. I also hate liberal and burgeois ideas about plastic bags and cans recycle. Sometimes we should think if what we're doing really makes sence or is it just another thing to make us busy and to make us think that we're really contributing. My God, we are not making a difference. Did you ever think that with separating trash we only volutarily lower costs of corporate business? You know, there is more and more trash produced by every individual every day and plastic bags are not really going to save the planet.

Time to rethink our environmental strategy, not listen to ideas produced by politicians, sponsored by corporate business and act in a proper way. Maybe at the begining question ourselves if we're doing enough when we're breaking some else's balls for not puting the aluminium can in a proper box.

If we won't be capable of this intelectual loop as a humankind, we will need to pack our stuff and go away. Make space for someone more intelligent. For example pigs or rats.

Ok, so yes I usually write something a bit green on Sundays. But, the best I can do tonight is mention that I went to my local city government to find out about their recycling program. Good thing is, they have a program. Bad thing is, we aren't included in the city- no, we are in the county.

During a 'neighborhood get-together' Saturday, I spoke to some neighbors about getting it in our neighborhood- but the old folkies aren't willing to pay for the service! They outright told me so! Which, I wasn't even aware they would extend the service to us (at least there was no mention while I was at the city building). Apparently, it is available for a select few for $11.50 a month.

I am irritated because I feel as if it is a bit SELFISH of these older folks to shun the idea because they aren't willing to pay for the service. I mean this is to make our city cleaner. These neighbors stated they can just haul it off themselves! Well, I don't have time to haul it off, I barely have time to set the trash out by the driveway every Sunday night, let alone get it all together in different containers and take it somewhere where I separate it into different dumpsters during certain business hours. That really seems like a bigger pain to me than setting it outside with your garbage. And, I wonder are they really 'separating' their garbage? And, is this selfish of me?

Look, I know I should understand their reasoning- but, they have time on their hands. You know the time I'm talking about- the kind where you leave the garage door open, sit in the rocking chair inside that garage and watch what everyone in the neighborhood is doing or that make mental notes as to who needs to keep their yards up more (yeah, I know this already..)

So, I feel like I have the right to state that I think it SHOULD BE MANDATORY that a recycling program exist in my community or at least have a pick-up service AVAILABLE. I mean come on, most major cities have a mandatory program, so why shouldn't we? Who decides this stuff anyway? The city board or council?

So, I am off this month in hopes of lighting a fire in my community, city and county on making recycling either available to those who want it or in making it mandatory. If anyone has ANY advice on how I can accomplish this goal - please, please, please let me know, I need all the help I can get on this one. BTW, am I being unreasonable?

Regn, blæst og mørke er hyggeligt

Sund kost er godt - Andesteg med sovs og kartofler er altså bedre!

La asta ma uitam acum... Metallica & AC DC, Pantera - Monsters Of Rock - 1991 (URSS). Unul din cele mai sangeroase concerte. Publicul a luat-o razna pe Pantera, sute de mii de oameni (sau cel putin asa vad eu in video, nu stiu cati or fi fost) si armata... Genial sa vezi 3 formatii asa mari in acelasi concert. Si ce tineri erau :)

Gasiti link pentru descarcarea concertului in primul comentariu de sub acest post (ca sa nu se ia astia de la wordpress de mine:P). Merita vazut... s-a scris istorie acolo.

Gestern Kino mit Tim und Robin - Far Cry! Bin anspruchslos reingegangen, Videospielverfilmungen sollen ja meistens nicht so fett sein, zumal ich das Original auch nicht kannte. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht :D
90 Minuten Trash mit RALF MOELLER! Der ehemalige Südbad-Bademeister hat offensichtlich immer noch kein Englisch gelernt, nach ca. 5 Minuten Spielzeit und einer Genmanipulation hat er für den Rest des Films das Maul gehalten =)

Übrigens hab ich grade festgestellt, dass ich immer mehr vom Thema "Austauschjahr" abkomme ;) Bis die YFU-Rückmeldung kommt, werd ich das posten wohl ma lieber sein lassen...

Aquí les dejo el video de la cancion que mas me gusta del nuevo álbum de Metallica, Death Magnetic, y un poco de información para que se "culturisen".A pesar de que ya se arrugaron, estos weyes aún hacen un trabajo excelente, pero nada como los 80's.

"The Day That Never Comes" en la cuarta canción del disco Death Magnetic de la banda americana de thrash metal Metallica. También es su cuadragésimo single.

Esta canción es la más lenta de Death Magnetic y por su música y estructura recuerda a canciones anteriores como One, Welcome Home (Sanitarium) o Fade to Black. El video es dirigido por el director danés Thomas Vinterberg.

Een stap in de goede richting, na bloed, zweet en tranen (jawel!) is ons dak vernieuwd en zijn onze nieuwe ramen geïnstalleerd.
Niet te onderschatten zo'n grote verbouwing, overdag gaan werken voor de kost (en voor het plezier ook natuurlijk!) en alle vrij avonden en weekends werken in ons huisje. Maar het resultaat zal er wezen.
Geniet er maar van, ik ben er al een hele week telkens opnieuw van aan het genieten en krijg er maar niet genoeg van.
Misschien moet ik ook maar eens iets posten over 'Hoe overleeft je relatie een verbouwing?', want volgens mij doen Patrick en ik het enorm goed, maar ik hoor soms andere verhalen. Onze leuze? No Stress! :-)

Pra quem não sabe Bollywood é a Hollywood dos Indianos.Eles estão frequentemente produzindo novos filmes e estão conseguindo obter o devido sucesso mundialmente.
Não são filmes que nem os de Hollywood,mas tem um pouco de charme tambem. A maioria tem situacoes comicas e trashs pra nós,mas lá faz o maior sucesso. Inclusive em São Paulo,alguns cinemas exibem esses filmes,mas isso é muito raro. O jeito é ver algumas cenas no youtube,ou baixar por torrents com legendas em inglês mesmo. A maioria dos filmes são musicais,com músicas digamos no mínimo divertidas.
Eu gosto!
