Tenía algo de tiempo queriendo ver este documental. Me enteré de él gracias a una recomendación de Bernardo. "Screaming Masterpiece (Gargandi snilld )" es un documental del director islandes Ari Alexander sacado en el año 2005 que relata la movida musical actual en Islandia, sus orígenes, sus razones, su evolución y sus máximos representantes. Incluso tocan un poco el tema de la historia de los primeros pobladores de la Isla y durante toda su duración muestras paisajes y lugares muy característicos de la isla.

El rock en Islandia tiene características que lo hacen único y muy distinto a las escenas musicales del resto del mundo. Esto se puede observar en este documental, donde muchos adentramos a él gracias a artistas como Björk, Sigur Ros o Múm, pero cuando uno se adentra un poco mas se da cuanta que ellos sólo son la punta de un gran iceberg, donde se encuentran una gran cantidad de propuestas creativas, variadas y muy interesantes.

Yesterday when I logged onto Club Penguin, the fall fair was gone.  I thought it had ended, cause it was the 6th of October. Anyhow, when I went on this morning, it had returned!

membersihken alias me-reset safari sudah dilakuken. demikian juga dengan pembersihan firefox. jadi, apabila aku ingin memakai wordpress dan gmail, mau tidak mau harus mau pake firefox. gitu deh.

akan tetapi persoalan ini tidak terjadi apabila koneksi internet yang kugunaken adalah koneksi swadaya, dengan modem + indosat@durasi.

It seems that, while this has been happening for a while, Rock Band 2 has a known glitch on the XBox 360 that deletes bands. The glitch happens after a band makes quite a bit of progress through the game, normally right before players are about to get the airplane. Gamers have noticed it happens when the primary account of the band is an XBox Live account, and the secondary account is a non-Live account. The forum where this is being posted at has 15 pages of complaints, but still no word from Harmonix about an update, or even acknowledging it.

It's one thing for a game to have glitches, but shouldn't the company at least take credit for it's problems and try to fix them. Even a simple post telling that they're working on a fix for it would be nice. Rock Band 2 is great for a music game, but if the band you've worked so hard on is deleted, doesn't it defeat the purpose of working on it? Hopefully, we'll hear a word later this week on a possible update.

Weirdest Glitch Ever!

I'm currently trying to find out how to do this. NO EDIT I PROMISE!!!

Teknoise returns from a brief hiatus with a three part excursion into a world of VST plugins that are more than happy to rip apart the sounds you feed them and turn them into otherworldly abstractions.  You can use VSTs like these to completely mangle a sound source, or you can throw one of them into a send and turn the send down to add some depth  and texture to an otherwise flat sounding audio track.

Plugins like these are a personal favorite of mine and I hope to provide a useful glance into them.  I'll discuss how they work, the results they produce and my personal uses for and opinions on them.  With that out of the way, let's get started.

1. DBlue Glitch: Glitch might be the most famous of these plugins and it was the first glitchy plugin that I personally used.  Glitch is a rhythmically synced noise machine that offers a wide variety of parameters to the user.  It can reverse, slow down, flange, bit crunch, and retrigger your samples and gives you lots of ways to control this behavior. You can decide when Dblue Glitch is triggered by using the sequencing grid that dominates the top part of its interface, and you can control the size of this grid, so that Glitch can work using a 1 to 64 step sequence.  This can be used to make Glitch more or less predictable, depending on the length and consistency of the patten in question.  Glitch also offers a bank of possible sequences that you can test out on your material.

Below this interface are controls for Glitch's different sound mutilating parameters.  The various effects offer both the kinds of options that you would expect for each effect type (e.g., depth and rate for the flanger, distortion and gain for the bit crusher, etc), while also featuring a chance parameter, which determines the odds that each effect will alter the signal when Glitch is triggered by the grid we just talked about.  Glitch's two parameters can be used together to generate a wide variety of sounds from simple source material, while making this variety and variation easily accessible and straightforward.

2.  Crazy Ivan: If Glitch is a good, relatively accessible introduction to the world of glitchy plugins, then Crazy Ivan is the opposite--Ivan is an arcane, noisy beast that will make you forget that you ever had source material for your samples.  Make sure that you turn down the volume of your monitors/speakers/headphones before using Ivan.  You can get the most consistent results out of Ivan by recording its output while you play with its controls; once this is done you can select parts of the recording that you want to use.  By doing this, you can get around the inconsistent, insane nature of Ivan's output.

It is also useful to record or draw in automation of Ivan's parameters in your audio host to make taming Ivan's output easier.

3. SupaTrigga: SupaTrigga is another good introductory FSU plugin that can produce incredible results.  Its options are more limited then Glitch's and its results are less over the top than Ivan's, but this middle of the road character can lead to great results.  SupaTrigga can produce stutters, starts and stops, making it great for dicing up drum loops.  You can choose the size of the slices Supatrigga creates, and it can also reverse each indivudal audio slice.

SupaTrigga is a great tool for creating rythimc variety and randomness.  I personally like to use it on guitars to create robotic, yet messy guitar tracks.

Parts II and III of this article will be here soon.  We'll discuss other glitchy plugins and will also consider eccentric synthesizers and other goodness.

Benn Lee Jordan have many pseudonyms. Since 1999 his most widely distributed and eclectic music has been released under the name of The Flashbulb. Other names Benn operates under are Acidwolf, CHR15TPUNCH3R, DJ ASCII, Dr. Lefty, Dysrhythmia, Flexe, Human Action Network, Lucid32, rnd16, Sixty Six Ex, and Q-Bit.

As The Flashbulb, Jordan typically releases drill 'n' bass or breakcore styled music.

His style differs strongly between albums, but they all have a cohesive bond tied around fast drum programming, acid-influenced melodies, and a wide array of live instrumentation from various instruments Jordan has acquired. He also often records his melodies through MIDI-synced guitars. His guitar style and skill has gained attention because he typically plays it strung backwards, and makes heavy use of fast sweeping and tapping. The last two Flashbulb albums have featured violinist Greg Hirte, who is featured heavily on The Flashbulb's most recent album, Soundtrack to a Vacant Life, as well. Soundtrack to a Vacant Life is, as Jordan stated in a recent interview, a step away from the breakcore genre. He also said that this step is likely to be a permanent trend in the direction of his music. Under other aliases, Benn Jordan's work varies quite a bit.

His Acidwolf and Human Action Network aliases feature retro acid music that uses old drum machines such as the TR-808 and relies heavily on the melodies of the TB-303. Tracks made under the FlexE alias tend to be laid-back and classic acid. According to him, he showcases his more fundamental, classical, and personal pieces under his own name, Benn Jordan.

Sure, I believe that this can happen… when the most massive motherboard of information is created. Its like taking the 20 Questions computer game and multiplying it my a trillion. (20Q is that game that guesses what your object is by asking you a few questions about it)

Even though AI could come extremely close to full interaction with humans, I still wouldn’t call it fully ‘intelligent.’ It would never be able to think for itself because everything it relates its information back to is a computer program developed by human researchers and really smart computer guys.

There is that line that I don’t think ever will be crossed (as it is in the Robin Williams movie… where they declair him human at the end and he dies of natural ‘human’ causes). No matter how much information is inputted into AI… it is never officially thinking for itself.

Its a scary thought thats good for the cinemas… but I don’t see it ever happening in real life.

Unless of course it’s developed by Mircosoft… and there’s a glitch (GASP!).

+ Finished Siren 2 HARD Time Trial mode! You will not have to beat Ichifuji's secret level in order to get the bonus video, thus no video of it is included... Some of the runs could be improved, but right now I'm just happy I got this over with.

+ by accident found a glitched item from Kanae's stage. Made a video of it too. EDIT: and of a behaviour glitch at Akiko's second level.

+ I'm feeling tempted to do a God of War speedrun. Also, after I finish the glitch FAQ for good I will probably move on to do a God of War II glitch FAQ.

Well, some of you have asked how to multi-log with two penguins. I have made the decision to tell you! Follow these steps carefully.

1. Go to Club Penguin, log into a NON MEMBER ACCOUNT, and choose a relatively EMPTY server. 

2. Open a new tab or window, and that silly "MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS DETECTED" error message will pop up.

3. Instead of pressing tab and highlighting Ok like before, now you press tab until it is around your URL box and press enter. Do this until you no longer see the error message.

IMPORTANT: NEVER go back to your other penguin until instructed as such.

4. Log into a MEMBER account, and go to the server your other penguin is in.

5. Waddle around your other penguin for about five minutes, then say something.

6. QUICKLY go to your other penguin. Say something back.

Note that if one of these instructions is not followed properly, your second penguin WILL BE LOGGED OFF.

Follow these instructions:

1) Open the "Spin the Wheel" (grab & spin) game at the DOCK

2) Spin the wheel once or twice to get a good amount of tickets (30-60 is fine)

3) Try to have under 80 tickets

4) Once you feel you have enough tickets, move to the next step

5) Press tab until a little yellow box appears around the "End Game" Button

6) Hold "enter" or "return" . You may need to repeatedly tap it

7) You will hear a tiny clicking noise. This is good.
