Spore has taken over Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning which has fallen to second place. Spore fell to second last week but has managed to regain its dominance in the UK. Filling out the top three was Civilization IV: Colinization. EA continues to dominate the PC gaming market with six out of the top 10 games under their name.

Lil' Wayne is somewhat of a rap phenomenon at the moment and for the likes of me, I can't explain it. This guy's timing couldn't be better. Most of what is out there right now is pretty weak and if he does a somewhat decent job, he'll reach number one on the sales chart yet again.

"I've been busy in the studio," he wrote, "and right now I'm working on a mix tape, along with 'Tha Carter IV'. The mix tape you can expect real soon. It's called 'Dedication 3', and it's going to be 'Gangsta Grillz' by DJ Drama. And then right after that, I'm putting that same mix tape out with 20 extra songs for free on my website," said Lil'Wayne in a recent post on his ESPN blog.

Once again, I think this guy's timing is unbelievable, as he'll probably release it long after Kayne, 50, and Jay-Z will dropped their latest albums. As I said once before in another of my posts, Lil' Wayne is one smart rapper.

Nach einem langen Wochenende voller Partys, Rock und Dosenbier finden wir uns also wieder ein zu dem wöchentlichen Chart-Report!
Voller Spannung schalteten wir heute morgen den Rechner an, nichts mit Mails kontrollieren, viel wichtiger waren die neuen Charts!

Die Auswertung: informativ, kurz und unabdingbar für jede DooLoad-Band!

Wie gewohnt betrachten wir zunächst die Downloadcharts, kurze Ernüchterung, wir drücken die F5-Taste um die Seite zu aktualisieren, schauen nochmal in die News der letzten Woche... Das Ganze passierte 3 mal, bevor klar war : die Kings of Orange lassen sich nicht von der Spitze vertreiben! Wieder einmal gehen die ersten 3 Plätze an die Kombo, einzig und allein die Tracks tauschten sich untereinander aus.
Platz 1 geht erneut an den allseits beliebten Party-Hit 'Rapante', welcher wirklich in keiner Playlist fehlen sollte.
Die Plätze 2 und 3 gehen diesmal in neuer Formation an den Start, der Track 'Young and Needy' tauscht den Platz mit 'Shout Ooh La La'.
3 Chartplatzierungen, 2 Wochen lang - der wohl beste Beweis dafür, dass die Tracks Laune machen, hört rein!

Im Streamingsektor sind einige Veränderungen zu verzeichnen, BEGBIE rutschen mit dem Evergreen 'Hey, may I kill you'auf den 2. Platz und geben ihren 1. Platz an die Screwballs weiter, welche somit mit der 'Hörprobe zum neuen Album' den Thron besteigen. Aus Freude über die Platzierungen innerhalb der Charts veröffentlichte die Band nun ein exklusives neues Live-Video vom Song 'Stay Together'! Das ist Interaktion, das ist Fanpflege!

Der 3. Platz geht an einen Neueinsteiger, mit dem Track 'Beautiful Lightning' steigen Everrain in die Charts ein und begeistern mit ihrem Nu Grunge-Sound.

Everywhere people have started to speak about the markets. hmm.. A few days back I was in a saloon and guys there were talkin about current markets, lehman crash this and that just as rumors they heard. I was thinking in my mind, Man India in awakening!!!! So just thought why dont i write something about what the charts have to say to a normal man.

Markets on the present scenario can be analysed on vrious factors and on various angles, but let me in short, just give you the analysis of bse and nse index alone in a way that gives you the gist of the current scenario.

Sensex on friday closed at 12523.3 pulling down 529 points and reviewers say the house representatives rejecting the bailout package was also a reason. The 12100 level is a kind of the last hope for the bulls as a break of the level could see the index sliding to 10300 and further deeper down to 9000 in the coming days. All are keenly awaiting for the movement of index over the next two weeks coz thats the key to determining the long-term road ahead.

And when it comes to Nifty (3818.3), it too recorded an intra-week low. Sources say failure to move above 4070 in the early part of the week would cost the markets seriously. Volumes have also recorded low. Also the sharp decline in assest prices in recent times has made many investors fearful of the stockmarket and still markets remain stressed.

Who knows what happens next.... Lets watch the game as it goes... :-|

Sometime in the late 17th century a Manila Galleon, carrying tons of beeswax and other cargo destined for the colonies of New Spain, wrecked on the Oregon coast near Nehalem Spit.
Clatsop Indian oral histories tell of the shipwreck and its survivors. Over time the Indians incorporated the cargo into their trading and daily lives. This presentation by Scott S. Williams (Cultural Resources Program manager at WSDOT) will discuss on-going investigations to locate the mysterious wreck and document it.

This public program is part of the "Adventures in Northwest History and Archaeology" series at the State Capital Museum.

Admission to each lecture is $2.

You are welcome to bring lunch. Coffee and tea will be served.

All I wanted in life yesterday was to put some datapoints (circles or dots) on my flex lineChart. Why? Well, if your chart line goes straight, you have no idea where your datapoint is.

You would think that it would be a fairly easy task, but I found it really hard to find information on datapoints and flex charts. So here goes.

There. All you need to do is assign an itemRenderer which is tyied to a mx.charts.renderer. Theres several different shapes in the renderers package. You can change the color and stroke of the datapoint as well:

It's amazing how hard that was to find online. Even the adobe documentation simply stated you could do it, but didn't tell you how.

The songfacts material below is that which I would not tsteal - if songfacts did not make 100% of their money by ILLEGALLY STEALING LYRICS (redundant, I know, bu this cannot be underemphasized). Songfacys, if you want to steal that which is not yours, you imply that the copyright that YOU claim on other people's opinions is a JOKE, just like the millions of lyrics you have stolen. You know, you do have an interesting site with the illegality, but I guess most do come to see you simply to steal lyrics you illegally "publish." I guess that is true Generation Y - you just figure that by the time the law actually asks youto show up in court and give Todd's estate the money that belongs to him, Ameggedon will have taken place, which i hate to admit is not a bad bet.

Originally recorded by Rundgren's late-1960s band The Nazz, Rundgren wrote the song such as to focus on its more negative side - a relationship ending in a phone call. It was dirge-like and received little attention, barely skirting the Top 100 as a single. Rundgren rerecorded it when he went solo.

Rundgren expected the album opener "I Saw The Light" to be his big hit, even going as far as to say so in the liner notes rather tongue-in-cheek. However, his re-recording of "Hello It's Me" shot up to the Top 5, eclipsing the Top 15 success of "I Saw The Light." Ironically, both songs displayed his newfound admiration (and subsequent imitation) of Carole King following her Tapestry album. (thanks, Joey - Athens, GA, for above 2)

The first 3 sides of the Something/Anything? album were entirely peformed by Todd. This song comes from Side 4 which features Todd playing with studio musicians like Mark "Moogy" Klingman (organ), John Siomos (drums), Stu Woods (bass), Randy Brecker (trumpet), Mike Brecker (sax), Barry Rogers (trombone), Robbie Kogale (guitar) and back up singers. Todd plays piano and sings lead. I believe that the 4th side was recorded "live" in the studio -- meaning, no overdubs.

This song was first an east coast(Philly) hit by Todd's first band Nazz. Over 3 albums he only sang one lead(you are my window). The original is slow, lush vocal arranging, and Todd plays the vibes. If he sounds whiney, well he was probably 17 when he wrote the song. That's the brecker brothers (sax&trumpet) on the live version.I accept that he's strident, and difficult for many to love. Still, if you listen to his entire discography, listen, it's dazzling. He can be called an "artist" a term too often strewn about randomly. I must admit i've always thought "hello it's me" is a weird thing to say on the phone, and i never have.

This is one of very few pop songs to feature a trombone solo. I have heard (but cannot verify) that the player was Barry Rogers, a NYC session player who is probably better known to salsa fans, having recorded & performed for many years with Eddie Palmieri and other salsa greats.

Never much cared for this one- it evokes a errie, stale sense of lonliness- at least for me. A bit on the whiny side too. I wouldn't mind a spoof re-release of this song where it ended abruptly with a phone hanging up after the opening "hello, it's me"

Todd had his biggest hit with this one and to this day it holds up rather well. It's lyrical depth is beyond most romantic rock songs in that the person singing this to the girl is kind of in a state of denial about his place in the relationship. He tells her how much he's thinking of her, then concludes, "Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine," like he just realized it while he was singing it. In the 2nd verse he start to tell her more of his true feelings but then realizes, "Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through." The truth is that she's dumped him and probably moved on with her life, but he's just not quite ready to admit it. Pretty deep stuff for a pop song and to my ears one of Todd's classics.
